Before you start

  3. You have to have a CREDIT CARD. It is useful to have one, if you want to rent a car. But be aware that the name of the credit card and the name of the driver should be the same.
    Attention: VisaElectron, Maestro/EC, Prepaid Card and Debit Cards are not considered a CREDIT CARD!
  4. Don't forget to have enough CORONA MASKS handy. Determine if CORONA TESTS are required. Make sure that your CORONA vaccination status is sufficient.

  7. Don't forget your valid DRIVER LICENSE and your voucher for your rented car. Your driver license should be readable in ENGLISH. Otherwise you need in addition an International Driver License.

  9. Book your HOLIDAY HOME timely. Some associations have a deadline for registration 30 days before rental period.

  10. Ask your AIRLINE about any news and restrictions about LUGGAGE and HAND LUGGAGE.
  11. Make COPIES from all your documents, like Passport, Driver Licence, Credit Card, Flight ticket etc. In case of a loss it's useful to have a copy.

  15. For certain products there are import restrictions in the United States. In simple terms: Do not import fruits, vegetables and other plant products.   19. A SUMMARY of all you shouldn't forget:
    • Passport, Flight tickets, Driver's license, Credit card, Voucher for rented car, rental contract, Dollars...
    • Suncreme, Sunglasses, Hat, Second pair of glasses, your medicine (in Hand Luggage), first-aid kit, Camera or video camera, and Guide books.
    • Mark your luggage by a coloured band. So it could be easily identified by you.
    • Supend the delivery of your newspaper, shut all faucets,
      deposit your house key at your neighbor and get started...

    • CHECK-IN TIME: The specified time on the flight plan is the departure time of the aircraft. The departure time is not the time to which you need to check-in, nor the time to which you must be ready for boarding. The CHECK-IN TIME is the latest possible time to which you may be accepted for embarking the airplane. After CHECK-IN be aware that you need time for the SECURITY CHECK. The BOARDING TIME is the latest time you are required to be at the gate to get into the airplane.
Flight and arrival in USA
  1. At the AIRPORT SECURITY AND IMMIGRATION... Don't make jokes and don't be ironic! Don't make any comments. Answer only with YES or NO. And instruct also your company in the same manner. In December 2014, a doctor from Venezuela had to pay $ 90,000 to the Miami airport authorities because, through his jocular remark he had a bomb in a suitcase, an alarm was triggered.

  3. During the FLIGHT you have to fill out the I-94W Form (Non-Immigrant Arrival Record) and the customs record. Both you'll get from the flight attendant.

  4. At the FIRST AIRPORT in the USA (your first stop-over in the States) you have to pass the IMMIGRATION.
    Show your passport, your I-94W Form and you custom record to the officer.
    A SMALL STUB of the I-94W Form have to remain in your passport for the departure.
    Then pick up your luggage and pass the custom.
    There you have to show the custom record. If this airport is a stop-over airport you have to drop your luggage at the counter.

Your stay in NAPLES and departure
  1. After your first night call the landlord's representative (caretaker) and inform her/him that everything is okay. If you have any complaints, talk to us IMMEDIATELY. Only in this way we are able to immediately remedy the situation. If you have to do a payment, make an appointment with her/him. Find the phone numbers on the rental contract. In no case go to the caretakers home without an appointment.
  2. If it's your first stay in the USA ask the caretaker that she/he could explain all the appliances: e.g. dryer, micro wave, stove, AC, washer and dish washer. Unfortunately, with the start of the digital TV the handling of the television sets has become more complicated. You should read this: A new window opens up...
    If you have any questions or complains - please call the caretaker immediately to give us a chance to explain or to fix it.
